Engr. Sulyman Ayobami AbdulRahman, a participant in the Phone Repair Business Course, described the program as “well presented and an eye opener, with highly commendable technicality and entrepreneurial mind-opening.”
His entrepreneurial journey began as far back as 2002, starting with the phone call business. When GSM was introduced, he learned phone repairs through MTN and eventually transition into solar installation.
Despite moving into a new field, Sulyman remains connected to phone repairs. People who knew him from his early repair days still bring devices to him. He leverages this by outsourcing the jobs to younger technicians he previously trained, earning a margin while they handle the technical work.
But now, he can handle the repair by himself and having all the profit.
Sulyman’s story shows that the Phone Repair Business Course adds real value to people with long-standing experience in the industry, reinforcing the principle that knowledge in capacity building is never wasted.
